In this workshop, you have the opportunity to explore movements that release tightness and pain in your shoulders and hips due to habitual patterns of movement. The focus is on sideways movements that will help you release tension in your side body, rotate more freely and experience more ease when walking.
Do you feel uncomfortable when you twist to look or reach behind you?
Using awareness and the least amount of effort possible, this movement exploration with help you discover how to release tension and stiffness in your shoulders and hips, increase your mobility, move with more ease, and reduce pain and tightness that results from stress, trauma, illness or habitual patterns.
Are your hips stiff and/or do you shuffle when you walk?
Somatic exercises are small movements done slowly and with awareness. They are a type of neuromuscular re-education that allows you brain and body to reconnect, and find your natural way of moving, free from discomfort and pain.
Hanna Somatics is an extension of The Feldenkrais Method. It empowers you to regain control over your movement, and more importantly, your own self-healing capacities.
